Watching cloud fragments
become a deeper
lonelier whole
I wonder at the stone face
of what is far away
and merge with the tidal pebbles
and shells of my belonging

seeing the shadows rent open
and the painted spoons
lumps of cloth that are too much
for their ghostly corners
the way the shuttered windows
allow the light

the water's drain and laughing brine
living in a sprawl of faithful things
and skimming uncertain orbits
from the oil of a censored chair
rain tower for fever's tug
dream's tasteless descent
cracked hologram smile

the schematic of a waiting heart
rendered to fight with ancient fangs
cooled apart from the coughing pool
and sucking forest,
one thumb's photo
gathered vapor
and drug horizon
one filed tear.
